Services Performed
- Complimentary Vehicle Service Inspection (Belt Noise)
- – Confirmed, test drove vehicle and verified concern as described, vehicle running poorly @ idle, sputtering under acceleration intermittently and stalling @ idle intermittently. – Scanned and retrieved multiple active DTCs (P0172,P0300, P0302, P0456, P2188, and P0711) – Check Engine Light not active although there are multiple active DTCs that should cause illumination, suspect bulb burnt out, recommend remove instrument cluster to replace bulb and retest function of warning lamp and retest for illumination of lamp due to faults. – Performed pinpoint testing on fuel and spark delivery components and found one of the four ignition coils failing and causing lack of spark to cylinder #2 (We swapped ignition coil to cylinder #4 during testing and faulty coil is now on cylinder #4) – Although only one ignition coil is currently failing, recommend replace all four as they all appear original and will likely fail in close succession. – Performed pinpoint testing on engine vacuum/emission components and found large vacuum leak present due to failing purge valve stuck in open position allowing air/fuel vapor to freely flow into engine when running. – Recommend replace all four ignition coils, replace purge valve, and retest for customer's concern.
