    • – On arrival verified CEL active and heard noise present from engine bay. – Inspected and found no oil on dipstick, had to add 4.6 quarts to get engine to proper fill range. (Total engine oil capacity is around 6.4 quarts, meaning there was less than two quarts left in engine on arrival) – After filling oil engine noise has subsided, however advise customer due to engine running low on oil for unknown amount of time it is possible there may be internal mechanical wear/ damage as a result of driving w/ very low oil level. – Found very large oil leak @ engine oil cooler hose assembly (Pinhole in hose spraying oil everywhere under neath vehicle) – Scanned vehicle for trouble codes and found multiple active DTCs (P0012,P0014,P0021,P0024) all faults active indicate variety of variable valve timing control faults. – VVT control systems rely on proper oil pressure and quality to perform properly and w/ engine oil nearly empty the VVT control systems will be nearly inoperable and will set a variety of faults. – Recommend replace oil cooler hose assembly to resolve oil leak, perform LOF service to correct oil level and condition then clear DTCs and retest for faults w/ VVT control systems.
